The State of DisContent

Our practice has always been something of a black sheep, but something’s different now, isn’t it? Since 2022, there have been 276,508 tech layoffs, AI has executives scrutinizing content programs, and we’ve become slaves to unpredictable algorithms. We know “the playbook” is changing, yet in many cases employers and clients want to stick with “what works” while mandating we “do more with less” For many, this is leading to creative unfulfillment, burnout, and career dissatisfaction. To be clear, it’s not all doom and gloom, while the focus of this report is about The State of (Dis)Content, you will see throughout there are many who are satisfied with their career, pay, and have buy-in from leadership. Our goal throughout is to find the common themes behind the two groups, and perhaps find a way to push our industry forward.
